In exciting news for the Power, we are one step closer to relocating to Waratah Oval following the lodgement of the Development Application to Sutherland Shire Council last week.

The proposal includes internal alterations and additions to the existing amenities building which will house the away teams along with the construction of a new 200m² freestanding building to the south which will include the home change rooms, large canteen, public toilets, umpires rooms and an admin / office area. Once completed the facilities will be among the best in Sydney and have been designed in accordance with the AFL’s Premier League requirements with a view to the future. As much as leaving Fortress Gwawley will be a sad day, upon completion of construction the Power will be able to relocate to Waratah for all home matches as well as training. The long term plan is to add a level above the new building which would house a club / function room, bar and viewing deck.

The amenities buildings are just the first stage of the project with stage 2 to cover new lighting for the ground to a level which would allow night football and stage 3 involved a resurface of the ground itself.
