Under 19s in 2015

18th November, 2014

We have a few exciting announcements to make regarding the Southern Power under 19s team in 2015!

The club is pleased to announce that Simon Closter will be the Head Coach of our U19s in 2015, with Cameron Roe as his Assistant, and Lou Maratheftis as Team Manager.

The Club sees this appointment as an important part of its future development pathway and the appointment of such a high calibre coaching team as important to ensure the success of its U19s, and club, going forward.

Simon ‘Simo’ Closter took the Power to a Division 2 premiership in 2010 and co-
coached us to 2 x Division 1 grand final appearances. For the past 12 months, he has also been a coach in the Swans Academy.

Cameron ‘Roey’ Roe is a club legend in courage, determination and leadership, having played the most senior games for the Sharks/Power. In recent years, he has assisted coaching in the Junior ranks.

We wish ‘Simo’, ‘Roey’ and ‘Lou’ all the best for the season ahead.

Our new initiative, the “U19s only” strength and conditioning program, kicks off tomorrow at Shire Performance Training Centre, 102 Bath Rd, Kirrawee from 7.15pm. Sessions will run on Wednesdays and Saturdays during pre-season.

All current and prospective U19s are invited to attend. Check out the gym set up in the photos below, and bring a mate who is keen to give footy a go.
