Seeking expressions of interest: Women’s Assistant Coach & Game Day Operations

In 2013 the Southern Power Open Women’s team reached the Sydney AFL Grand Final for the first time. 2014 brings in new faces to the team, new challenges and the desire to go that 1 step further.

Southern Power is committed to growing AFL, and Womens AFL in the Sutherland Shire. To continue the growth and development of the team and club, the Southern Power are fielding expressions of interest for the following positions to assist the Womens team.
* Assistant Coach
* Game Day Operations Manager

Assistant Coach Key duties
Assistant in;
– Training – 2 nights per week
– Conduct training sessions where required
– Weekly game day team preparation in partnership with the Coach
Manage pre and post game duties as set out by the coach
Perform all required support tasks as determined in discussions with the coach
Attend coaching or development opportunities where it is a requirement of the role
Attend required club committee meeting’s in the absence of the coach to report on the team

Game Day Operations Manager
Maintain team equipment (excluding jumpers), including first aid kit
Manage pre and post game duties as set out by the coach
Perform all required support tasks as determined in discussions with the coach
Support team requests as they arise
When playing away, support the home team with time keeping duties
Ensure the team is covered with support staff i.e. Boundary, Goal umpires if required
Assist home duties on the day, and ensure the team support other Power teams playing on the day.
