The Future looks Teal with Travers and Smith

19th May, 2017

Southern Power AFC and partner Blum are pleased to announce the first recipients of the Brian Cairnduff Iniative for season 2017.

Well done to Ben Travers and Flynn Smith (both formerly of the Heathcote Hawks) on making their 1st grade debut last weekend.

BT and Flynn

For their efforts both players will each receive $500 as well as $500 per debutant going to their junior club of origin in the shire.

Blum are proud to be involved in the initiative to support young footballers in continuing their football into the senior grades and growing the great game of AFL in the shire. In 2007 Brian Cairnduff began our then u18 side that continues still as our u19 side.

The club has had and continues to get great results from the u19s that has produced senior club captains to multiple premiership players at Senior and u19 level.

We look forward to more young players rising to the challenge of senior football and supporting all AFL clubs in the Shire.

Get around BT and Flynn!

Round 7 – 1st Grade – 20th May

15th May, 2017

Round 7 - 1's

With the rep round on this coming weekend, it’s a bit quiet on the club footy front.
We only have the one game on this week, and it’s our seniors hosting arch rivals UTS at Gwawley Oval. The boys are itching for their first win of the year, and have been getting closer and closer each week. They would love as much support as possible, so make sure you get down on Saturday to cheer them on!
Big thanks to our great sponsors Blum for this week’s fixture.
Power in Unity!

Jemima Wrigley

Awesome news for one of our future favourites!

Jemima Wrigley has been named in the final AFL NSW/ACT Youth Girls U18’s team ahead of the National Youth Girls Championships in May and Jul 17. This is the 2nd year that Jemima has been selected to play for the NSW/ACT team at the YG championships. Jemima has played a handful of games in 2016 for the Women’s Premier League team.

Jemima’s leadership on the field really sets a high standard for the YG at the club in her attitude towards training, game day and work ethic.
