Liam Davis wins League Best & Fairest

Southern Powers smallest player Liam Davis has taken out the Sanders Medal for the Best & Fairest player in the Division Two competition at the recent Phelan Medal Night.

In a count which was dominated by the premiership winning Power, Tongs polled 23 votes to win from perennial runner up (4 years in a row) Phil Hamer on 18 votes, the leagues leading goalkicker Alan Fritsch and Holroyd Parramatta’s Anthony Bishop tied for third on 15 votes with Matt Graham fifth a further vote back.

Its been a big year from Tongs who earlier this year moved across to the Power from St George and now has a premiership medal and league best and fairest to his name.

Congrats Liam, Phil, Al and Matt on great years!

Also from Division 2, Al Fritsch was awarded the leagues leading goal kicker with 103 goals for the season. This was Al’s 2nd year claiming this award after also kicking 100 goals last year.

In Division 3, Doug Showell and Clint Colaiacovo both polled 9 votes to finish equal 6th while Lyndon Hall took out the leagues leading goal kicker.

Cheyne Anderson topped the count for the Power in Division 4 polling 10 votes to finish equal 9th.

For the Under 18’s, Maddis Bishop polled 17 votes to finish 2nd just 2 votes behind the winner while George Fourtsadakis polled 11 votes to finish 8th.
