Coaching Appointments

30th November, 2012

Southern Power is delighted to announce the following appointments to key Coaching roles for the 2013 Season. We congratulate those concerned and wish them and all players a very successful year.

Senior 1st Grade

We are delighted to announce the Senior’s Team Coach for 2013 is Rod Craig. Last year’s co-coach has stepped up to take the reigns after a highly successful 2012 season. Rod brings to the role incredible depth and experience as a player, a strong undertanding of the modern game and great knowledge of our existing players. We are also pleased to announce that Ryan Libbis has been appointed as Rod’s Assistant Coach. Ryan is a former 1st Grade player and has captain/coached a Divisional side. This is a formidable team who will drive Southern Power that next step to a flag in 2013.

Under 18s

After a fantastic and succesful 2012 season as Division Two Premiers, we are pleased to announce an even stronger coaching line up for our Under 18s. Avio Scotti will return as Head Coach to be assisted by Abraham Caroca and once again Rhys Vance. We have put this structure in place to drive success for the next three years in Division One. Abe, a former Power player, brings a wealth of coaching experience from Under 16s football at Miranda including an undefeated Premiership team in 2011 and Grand Final runners up in 2012. Abe’s skills were recognised when he was appointed Asst Coach of the Under 16s South Sydney Representative team in 2012. This is an exciting team and we are looking forward to a very strong showing in Division One.

Women’s Team

We are delighted to announce the appointment of ….. Crowey as Coach of the Women’s Team. 2013 will be a year of building and consolidation as the Women’s Competition is split into two divisions. Southern will be a strong performer in Div Two and we are confident Crowey will work well with the team to drive for a top place finish and push for promotion in 2014.

Announcements will be made regarding Reserves and 3rd Grade coaches soon.
