Southern Power AFC Seeking Coaches for the 2012 Season

22nd September, 2011

The Southern Power AFC is seeking dynamic, highly motivated and suitably skilled Coaches to fill vacancies for the 2012 season including:

  • First Grade Coach
  • Reserve Grade Coach
  • Third Grade Coach
  • Under 18’s Coach
  • Womens Coach

Based in the Sutherland Shire in Sydney’s south, Southern Power AFC offers applicants an exciting opportunity to develop their coaching expertise at a Club that has a strong focus on developing a successful and enjoyable football environment for all players and supporters.

The Southern Power AFC is currently enjoying its most successful era both on and off the field shown by the results listed below:

  • 2011 Sydney AFL Division One Runner Up (after promotion from Division Two in 2010 following a premiership win)
  • 2011 Sydney AFL Division Five Premiers
  • Womens team entry into SWAFL Premier League in 2011

Huge steps have been taken off the field over the past few years with a new look committee but the Club realise that the best way to continue this rise is with success on the football field which is why the role of coaches is so important in building on the wave of momentum the Club currently has. 2012 should also see the relocation of the Club to Premier League standard facilities which will assist in the rise of the Power.

The Power management and members aspire to compete at the highest level possible and while our sights are clearly set on winning Division 1 in 2012 and building strength of talent and numbers at an Under 18’s level, the longer term goals are to play Premier League at both Senior and Under 18’s level. We are also in the process of forming an alliance that will give our players a pathway into NEAFL and hopefully the AFL.

We are looking for Coaches with previous experience who can continue the remarkable growth of the Club over recent years, with a view to providing a clear pathway for players of all levels, ages and sexes wanting to play AFL in the Sutherland Shire of Sydney.

With an influx of local juniors to the senior Club in recent years applicants with a proven ability to develop a diverse group of young players would be considered an advantage.

This is an exciting opportunity for driven coaches who are keen to get on board for the journey as the Southern Power AFC continue their rise in the Sydney AFL landscape.

Remuneration packages are available depending on qualifications and experience.
