Club Captain to play 100th First Grade game this weekend

9th April, 2010

Phil Hamer Local junior and current Club Captain Phil Hamer will tomorrow join a select number of players when he plays his 100th First Grade game for the club. To add to this milestone, it will also be Phil’s 49th game as captain of the First Grade side. After being injured in his 99th game last year he was unable to reach this milestone in 2009 but will do so in the Round 1 clash against St George at Gwawley Oval. Hamer plays on the ball and is well known throughout Sydney AFL thanks to his tireless work ethic and his willingness to put his head over the ball which see’s him tagged most weeks. Phil this year will be looking to go one better in the League Best & Fairest award after being runner-up 3 years in a row and will also be hoping to lead the Power to an elusive flag come September.

The Power’s players and members would like to congratulate Phil on this wonderful achievement and we look forward to him playing many more games for the club.
