Scotti and Butcher appointed 2016 Reserve Grade coaches

1st December, 2015

Southern Power AFC has continued to bolster its impressive coaching stocks for next season with the appointment of Avio Scotti and Jon Butcher as co-coaches of the 2016 Reserve Grade side.

The return of Scotti to the coaching ranks of the Power is one of much excitement for the club and highlights the importance the club has placed on improving the reserve grade side’s results next year. Scotti’s sole previous coaching role for the club led to the Under 18 premiership back in 2012 and the club are bullish about him keeping his perfect coaching record at the Power in tact next year.

Avio will be joined by club and reserve grade stalwart Jon Butcher as co-coach. Butcher is hell-bent on bringing the ultimate success to the only Power grade in the past 5 years who hasn’t managed to win a premiership. Butcher has been a key member of the side for many years and will continue to play, with Scotti on the sidelines.

Avio and Jon will be assisted by 2015 coach Ryan Fornasari providing a strong team to propel the side up the ladder.

The quality of these appointment, along with a renewed focus by the club on returning the side to at least Division Three, promises for an exciting season ahead for the team.

Other 2016 coaching appointments already announced include William Oakley as Senior / Club coach and Abe Caroca as Women’s coach.

The final appointment to be made is the all important Under 19 coach which will be announced shortly.
