Cheyne Anderson announced as 2011 Women’s Coach

15th December, 2010

The Southern Power AFC is pleased to announce Cheyne Anderson as the Women’s Team coach for the 2011 season. Cheyne will take over from outgoing coach Gary Slowgrove who has guided the team for the past few years. After coaching the Southern Power Third Grade side in 2010, Cheyne will move across to the Women’s team where he is excited about the challenges which await.

“I look forward to the challenge of coaching this diverse playing group where Ill be drawing on all my knowledge from my years of playing and coaching to unite the team, build a solid culture and help promote the game in the Shire.” Anderson said. “It’s an exciting time in women’s football with significant growth seen each year with more and more players and teams joining. This growth is no more evident than in our side which mixes a few seasoned veterans with many newcomers to the game along with juniors stepping up to senior football and I look forward to guiding them forward.”

Following a break over Christmas, pre-season training will resume on Tuesday 18th January from 6:15pm at Waratah Oval (Rawson Ave, Sutherland) and continue there every Tuesday and Thursday till the start of the season.

For any enquiries about the women’s team please contact the club or Cheyne Anderson directly on 0431 053 450.
